A state appeals court ruled UC Berkeley failed to consider alternate sites for the housing to preserve People's Park.

There's a new obstacle for UC Berkeley's plan to build housing on what is now known as People's Park.

"There is plenty of evidence that alternative sites exist — the development plan identifies several other university-owned properties as potential student housing sites," the First District Court of Appeals wrote.

Just before I came home from the service in ‘69 all hell broke loose in what’s now People’s Park. Hard to imagine still no peace there for over 50 years.

Ha! There won’t be any new student housing for years.

UC is simply addicted to tuition $$$$ and doesn't care about students or the community
