Plans for a new Lidl and 62 new homes have been approved

Plans for a new Lidl in Bestwood and 62 new homes being approved have been met with delight by local residents. The decision approving both applications was made on December 21.

Rebecca Cole, 28 who lives off Arnold Road, said: “There’s a Coop on Arnold Road but their prices are quite expensive so I’m glad they’ll be a Lidl in the area as for the 62 new homes, I think people would rather see something done with it rather than have it look how it does now.”The receptionist continued: “As you can see there’s an old mattress thrown onto here and other rubbish, it just doesn’t look nice. I’ll definitely be using the Lidl once it opens, it’s walking distance from my house.

Steph Mason, 33 lives in Bestwood. She said: “I think a new supermarket would be good, it would create jobs and nothing else is being done here, it looks like a dump.”
