JOHOR BARU: A total of 19 cases of 'rent-to-own' housing scams have been reported to the Johor State Housing Development Corporation (PKPJ) in 2022 with losses of RM122,000, says Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor.

JOHOR BARU: A total of 19 cases of"rent-to-own" housing scams have been reported to the Johor State Housing Development Corporation in 2022 with losses of RM122,000, says Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor.

"We received the first report on this case in July and after the police investigated, it was revealed that 19 victims fell for this scam," said Mohd Jafni. "The victims then came to PKPJ to check their applications after being 'offered' RMMJ, only to find that it did not exist," said Mohd Jafni after the 'Jom Turun PPR Sri Stulang and PPR Sri Iskandar' event here on Sunday .He said the suspect also hired agents to find more victims.
