New facilities have been created

A new sixth form which opened its doors after a £250,000 refurbishment is going from strength to strength. The revamped centre at Djanogly City Academy's Sherwood Rise site is now home to around 45 students.

Joseph Irons, Head of Sixth Form, said: "The students have settled in very well so far and have effectively transitioned from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5. This transition is not an easy process as it requires the students to develop five key learning characteristics: vision, proactive study skills, project management skills, exam preparation skills and a growth mindset.

The sixth form is keen to prepare pupils for their future careers, and offers 24 different pathways for its students. These include dentistry, veterinary science, engineering, real estate and fashion design.
