Despite the block consisting of 12 buildings of connected homes, Harrisburg Fire Chief Brian Enterline said his crews were able to contain the fire to two buildings.

10 people were displaced after a fire broke out at rowhome apartments in Harrisburg on Jan. 3, 2023. A fire was quickly contained after flames broke out on a second-floor balcony at two Harrisburg rowhomes on Tuesday night, according to Fire Chief Brian Enterline.

The street had 12 buildings attached to each other as rowhomes, but Enterline said crews were able to hold the fire to the two original buildings. The rowhomes were split into apartments, which led to 10 people displaced, Enterline said. There were two dogs that died on a rear balcony that were unable to escape the fire.
