Shadow NDIS Minister Michael Sukkar says the rate of disability home abuse incidents has gotten “worse” since Labor’s election amid the recent report revealing over 7,000 abuse incidents in disability group homes over the last four years.

“The three months to December was the highest number of reported incidents,” Mr Sukkar told Sky News Australia.

“I would just say to the government, time is of the essence, they can’t be asleep at the wheel – these incidents are getting worse and, in fact, have gotten worse at an alarming rate since Labor’s election. “Now is the time for action, particularly given this report has provided such a stark series of problems.”

Before you cast the first stone, spend a considerable amount of time actually working in that environment.

And as always, our response should be that the opposition had plenty of time to fix things when they were in power. After years of doing nothing they have lost the right to complain.

Under the LNP sorry 🤷‍♀️ Labor has only been in power for 7mths..Sukkar is a complete waste of oxygen..

We need a royal commission into Labor’s handling of aged care.

I call BS.

As if you cared.

Sorting & categorising people for successful shared house arrangements! A risky & complex task!

Pfft.

Did you read what you wrote?

So what is the strategy to stop this terrible abuse from happening rather than referencing political parties changing roles as in government not in government. Take ownership and do what your meant to do!

Anyone I know providing for or using NDIS, says it's a complete and utter shambles that has driven costs up and dramatically reduced services.

Seeing LNP in power for the last 3 1/2 years is hardly Labor's fault....

'Amid the recent report revealing over 7,000 abuse incidents in disability group homes over the last four years'. You put this in your article SKY NEWS, and Labor has only been in power 7 months... What about the last 3 1/2 years LNP were in power? Can hardly blame Labor!

Michael Sukkar the fool
