The Ontario Integrity Commissioner will open an investigation into whether the province’s housing minister tipped off developers ahead of revealing their plans to open up the Greenbelt.

In his decision, Wake said that unlike the other request—which was made by Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner—the affidavit provided by Stiles was extended and included both media reports and “direct evidence.”

Stiles submitted the request on Dec. 8 after multiple media outlets reported that large developers had purchased Greenbelt land since the Progressive Conservative government was first elected in 2018. One of those investments were made as late as September 2022. Multiple large developers have purchased Greenbelt land since the Ford government was elected in 2018. This includes an investment made as late as September of 2022.

Some of that land is part of the 7,400 acres the government has decided to remove from the Greenbelt in order to build more homes. In the request, Stiles agues that Clark contravened the Members Integrity Act when it came to the decision to allow development in the Greenbelt and Duffins Rouge Agricultural Preserve. This is a breaking news story. More to come.

Developers always inundate farmers in the Green Belt with multiple offers for their land mere weeks before an “unexpected” announcement by the government about Green Belt land being opened for development. Happens all the time.

This is a good thing, but it won't accomplish anything, they will still get away with it somehow. Corrupt 1%

Of coarse Drug Ford and fordnation have there greedy little hands in this pot of gold. Well done “buck a beer”followers.

If they were tipped off, the deal should be squashed.

Media must be upset about having to inform us about their dear leader. FORDisCORRUPT FordMustResign. Can't wait for those headlines!

Scandal alert 🚨 just one of many dirty back room deals done by fordnation & OntarioPCParty

It should be stopped

Ford will buy someone off. Worked with media

Mafia behind it

Of course they did

Just say they did and still nothing will be done to this government. I can save the country money

Breaking news? Investigate Ford, you will find that and much more corruption.

good someone is looking into this! fordnation how about repealing this ugly bill now?

Good. There's no way an investor would buy the land otherwise. It was locked down as a preservation.

I guess we go through the exercise but we know in the end if they find anything it will be swept under rug

We need the mandate letters and we need transparency

Investigate the Hising Minister. Doug Fords finger prints are all over this. He will throw the Minister under the bus. But it was Doug who said no to developing the greenbelt before he said yes after the deal. The buck stops with Doug Ford he’s the leader he made the decision.

About f'n time!

Has Dougie released his mandates from the last election yet? I must have missed them.

Video from 2018…

What’s the penalty? We find out fordnation has no integrity? The investigation should be done by the RCMP.

Nah just a coincidence!

Might find no evidence. The fact they bought land that was undevelpable shortly before change in policy is obvious that we’re tipped. Not necessarily by politicians but someone who had access to information about upcoming policy.

Such a time waster. Don't care. I knew then as I know now this Greenbelt thing was nothing more than smoke and mirrors for those who thought they could drive in at the last minute home stretch not having been around to do the work for decades to reap the benefits of our taxes.

What about environmentalists that get tipped off about projects and destroy 1000s of jobs?

Who cares, it’s only a small fine, just ask Justin.
