Board of Supervisors are expected to vote this week on a housing plan for the city through the year 2030.
In a phone call on Monday, District 5 Supervisor Dean Preston told SFGATE he's"happy to see bold affordable housing goals" in the city's housing plan , but he's concerned about the follow-through. He noted the cityits market-rate threshold during the prior eight-year housing plan, but didn't meet the mark on affordable housing.
, reviewed by SFGATE, that includes six sites in District 5 the supervisor believes could be converted into"near-term" affordable housing. The sites represent an estimated 1,254 units of affordable housing, listed below.— Northern Police Station and parking lot at 1125 Fillmore Street: 297 potential units— 600 Van Ness: 168 potential units— Proxy and Biergarten sites: 74 potential units
Dean doesn’t just accept a lack of housing, he’s dedicated his career to causing it!
