Scottish Water are currently investigating water supply issues covering huge areas of the city

Thousands of households in Glasgow have been left without water after a major burst in Milngavie caused flooding. Scottish Water say it is impacting the water supply to around 100,000 properties in parts of Glasgow.

The authority later located the burst main on Auchenhowie Road in Bearsden which causing flooding in the area. Emergency services including Scottish Fire and Rescue and police teams are at the scene with several roads closed down. "Our teams are currently working alongside the police and fire service, and as soon as more information becomes available, we will be in touch."

• A81 shut at Dougalston Ave. Please avoid the area until further notice and heed advice re alternative routes."
