SAN DIEGO – The San Diego City Council voted against Mayor Todd Gloria’s City Core Revitalization proposal.
The proposal sought to fix up City Hall, the Civil Center Plaza, and the Infamous Ash Street Property. President and CEO Bill Roper of the Roper Capital Company says the city should leave it to leave it to private developers to get the job done. Roper joined KUSI’s Logan Byrnes to discuss the details of the proposal and why it was likely shot down.

Correction: San Diego City Council did not vote on this issue. KUSI made an error, It was not editorial. Bill Roper, the interviewee, wrote an op-ed applauding 'San Diego City Council for its refusal to move forward with Mayor Todd Gloria's City Core Revitalization...'
This is completely incorrect. There was no item today on the City Council agenda regarding the Civic Center Revitalization. Here is the entire agenda: Cc: LoganByrnes and huntersowards3 since they’re making you read these lies on TV.
I read the proposal and saw it was projected to take years with a goal to only combat part of the problem… and cost millions. It was definitely a starting point..but seemed like bloated projections and it looked like a bit of indirect spend
