West Shore RCMP seized drugs including fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine along with three replica firearms during an ongoing investigation that began in December. One of the replica weapons is a submachine gun.
The Drugs and Organized Crime Unit made the finds while executing search warrants. Police said two homes, one in Langford and one in Victoria, and a vehicle were among the searches. Thousands of unmarked pills, 24 ounces of powder suspected to be steroids, an extendable baton, bear spray and $9,000 in cash were also seized.
A 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both Langford residents, were arrested for trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.“This investigation and the seizure of these drugs will impact the drug trade in the Greater Victoria area,” said Cpl. Kevin Pollock, in charge of the Drugs and Organized Crime Unit.
