Ottawa firefighters said a gas leak caused an explosion that had "taken out" multiple houses under construction. Police said it's unclear if people were living in the affected homes. They later said one of them had been pulled from the house where the explosion appears to have originated, and that the patient was in serious but stable condition. Tenth Line Road is closed between Décoeur Drive and Wall Road, which is south of Brian Coburn Drive. The scene is about 20 kilometres east of Ottawa's core.

Loud boom! That’s one way of describing a house leveling explosion.
This is the second gas explosion off of 10th Line. It was on Hoskins crescent April 1st 1987 newly built Garden homes, we lived in the next row. We were too scared to stay in our house and could smell natural gas. 1 woman died in the explosion. Very sad.
Who is responsible for the insurance bill if our homes are damaged?

I live 4 km away and thought someone threw themselves at our front door or ice chunk fell off the roof. It was the weirdest sound! Hopefully no one is hurt too badly or worse!!
