There is a “huge shortage” in NDIS housing, according to Apollo Investment’s Yannick Ieko.

“There is a huge shortage of such accommodation which is what you look for in any sort of investment in property,” Mr Ieko told Sky News Australia.

“The second thing is that because those people are in inappropriate accommodation are costing the government a lot of money, the government has a scheme which is incentivising investors heavily to invest in those properties.”

Surprisingly there is NEVER a shortage of ppl with their hands out for government gifts though.

'Is it really okay to jam up to six adults into a house just because they happen to live with disability? Surely, the answer is no.' From personal experience... the above is correct. Fraud as well. Why disability group homes can't be 'fixed'

Tell someone who cares but I albo doesn’t give a crap

Hang on John Howard said before the election there wasn't any shortage of housing? What the? No shortage if you are rich maybe AlboMP or are they all lineing up and the poor and indigenous Aussies will miss out again 30?000 houses isn't going to far are they PeterDutton_MP

isn't housing shortage obvious? and increase of interest rates is far from helpful.

The NDIS model wrong, corrupt providers in NDIS housing... damn scamming crooks. It's so bad the DRC held another session last week and again... it's still corrupt. The largest frauds, overcharging and abuse is in NDIS housing. No shortage of that.

As someone who works in the industry, I see it all the time. Some I would not put anyone in them at all.😔 These people deserve the best.

Solution is simple. Government should offer loans at the official reserve bank rate to developers that build affordable housing. Not grants or handouts. Developers are slugged with hefty premiums for developing aff-housing & it’s a deterrent. Government can change that

ALL housing is in shortage.

Only regulation and price controls can cause shortages. Lift them.

While of course, it is a good cause, the NDIS is going to send the country broke.

Not surprised after a decade of mismanagement
