has been left in limbo because of constant ministerial reshuffling that has led to a freeze on millions of Government funding, community groups have said.

An estimated 82 per cent of these homes are expected to be classed as affordable housing, with projects including eco-friendly co-housing schemes, black-led housing projects and accessible housing built by people with disabilities. There are a number of different models that community groups can use to create a housing project. These include co-operative housing, where residents become members of a democratic organisation that makes decisions on their housing.

Some of the groups he is supporting include a group of 10 migrants who have struggled to access housing in the UK, an LGBT group looking to build a block of flats, and a group of people with disabilities who want to build more accessible housing. The project, which first received planning permission in 2018, will also include a new community building, a community garden and a play area for children.
