There are many other provinces with lots of affordable housing options. They can live peacefully there. Vancouver Island is not the right choice.
Canadians are having troubles finding housing. They should not be allowed to come if there isn't already housing in place. It's irresponsible to bring them here and leave them homeless

Heartbreaking. should be a giant warning sign on Vancouver Island saying 'unless you're rich stay away', per capita most expensive place to live in Canada. Canada most expensive G7 nation to live in.... it's a diffulct place for refugees to land, hopefully people open their door
I can think of dozens of countries where Ukrainian refugees could go instead of Canada. Yet this government still wants to virtue signal to the world by taking refugees & hundreds of thousands of other immigrants per year, even though we don’t have adequate housing for Canadians.
