An 8,800-square-food Terrell Hills mansion built for now-retired AT&T Senior Executive Vice President Richard G. Lindner and his wife has hit the market with a $5.4 million price tag, according to property records.

The Lindners had the palatial, five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath home built in 2005 when he was an executive at SBC Communications Inc., the telecom company's precursor firm. Records show they purchased the land from another San Antonio power player: attorney Patrick J. Kennedy, who's perhaps best known for founding what is now the Omni La Mansión Del Rio on the River Walk.

But there's more to this elegantly designed house than famous names. An elegant spiral staircase rises up from its foyer, while neoclassical arches and pillars adorn its living area. A wood-paneled study seems perfectly suited for the next executive who moves in. The estate was designed by the Sage Group, a San Antonio-based architecture firm known for developments such as Tacara at Westover Hills and the forthcoming Cattleman's Square Lofts, according to its sales listing.
