The move comes in the wake of the Grenfell fire and the death of Awaab Ishaak from mould inhalation.

Housing developers have been told to repairing unsafe buildingsTower tragedy and, more recently, the death of Awaab Ishak showed the devastating consequences of residents inexcusably being let down by poor performing landlords who consistently failed to listen to them."The changes we are delivering today will make sure social housing managers across the country have the right skills and experience to deliver an excellent service and drive up standards across the board.

As already announced by Mr Gove's department, the draft law will give the social housing regulator tough new powers, allowing it to enter properties with only 48-hours' notice and make emergency repairs with landlords footing the bill.

Still waiting to hear anything from my housing association.

None of the people that work in the housing sectors have no clue about housing problems , especially ealing catalyst Housing you don't need qualifications to stop lying as thats all they do is LIE

Window dressing by Gove. We don't want QUALIFY, we want RECTIFY.

Half the landlords don't even belong here 👺👺

Have a look at this -

High rise pre fab council flats are the option. Free up the houses but make sure investors can’t buy them, only ordinary people trying to get on the housing ladder.

Are the parents being sent on awareness courses......

Now for qualifications and dedicated ongoing study and testing to be an MP.

Where is the money to fix it coming from?

Why the fuck would this improve anything

All talk no action

Doesn’t seem adequate I’m afraid but not surprised we are being given this underwhelming decision from the government

I've not met a social housing manager in the last 10 years that doesn't have at least a level 4 housing qualification. Most officers have it too. I'm sure there are some unqualified managers, but I imagine it's a low percentage.

Yup that’s 13 years of scum for you…

It took a death of a child and, more importantly, the resulting bad press for them, for the Tories to ‘recognise’ that social housing standards were inexcusably bad and life-threatening despite the endless calls for help?! For fucks sake! Get these self-serving bastards out!

Guaranteed this was because cloths where being dried indoors with no ventilation, then any mould that accumulated because of the moisture didn't get cleaned up. This is a problem if imported people think they can act like they still live in a warm environment.

They shouldn't have been here. Gimmigrants

By 13 years of toron war against the nation

So what will more important Their Qualifications to do the job or the number of irrelevant boxes they tick?

Training for tenants would be a good idea as well on how to clean your home.

Why should ONLY social housing staff need professional qualifications when the 4.6m households living in the Private Rented Sector typically live in worse conditions?

How will that drive up standards, if so many of them don't understand whats going on in the first place? There has been a distance created by councils and landlords, outsourcing services. It just means as tenants we have to jump through hoops, whilst they all play the PR game.

What that “F common sense” 🤷‍♂️

Reduce immigration?

this was lack of funding not qualifications
