In one of the most significant announcements of the election campaign, the NSW government will make a $200 million expansion to its stamp duty reforms.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet is viewing his housing reforms as transformational but also as his ticket back into government at the March state election.

“I don’t want anyone to give up on reaching the great Australian dream and buying their first home,” Mr Perrottet said. First-home buyers can choose between paying upfront stamp duty or a forever annual property payment of $400 plus 0.3 per cent of the value of the land.
