A beach in Norfolk has been closed off because of significant erosion - Hemsby Lifeboat says they are taking precautions to prevent 'the chance of injury due to further collapse'.

A beach in Norfolk has been closed off from the public due to erosion and the risk of homes falling into the sea, the Hemsby Lifeboat crew has said.

The team was worried that the high tides may result in potential losses from the dunes and said a"6ft sheer drop at the entry to the beach at the Gap," has become a hazard.A tide of 11ft was expected on Saturday night and was monitored by the lifeboat crew to"minimise the risk to property and the public."

Hemsby Lifeboat thanked members of the public for being supportive in the matter,"despite those measures restricting their movements".

DONT BUILD YOUR HOMES ON SAND NEXT TO WATER!!!

Well they are screwed, insurance won’t pay out and I doubt anyone would want to buy it 🤔

Not to mention getting covered in shite when they fall into the water!

Norfolk beach at erosion hotspot closed over risk to homesA lifeboat crew says one resident is leaving, but a second household has decided to stay. Closed over risk to people on the beach getting hit by falling homes... When you build on beaches/cliffs edge, you prevent natural erosion from creating beaches. We should stop building homes right beside water, rich folk can build themselves an indoor pool inland and be just as happy.
