Treasurer Jim Chalmers has promised the government has “no intention” of going after capital gains tax on family homes.

“And in making that point, I do want to make the point that this country should be capable of a more

sophisticated conversation about our budget pressures,” he said during a media conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Intention is the word

So I take it that means it is inevitable.

No matter what assurances they give, because of the litany of lies and deception, they cannot be believed.

How secure do you feel knowing your superannuation is there ready for you?

For now

Well no major changes anyhow

Which means they’ll do it in a few months

Not actually what he said this morning - let’s see what his opinion is tomorrow 😳

Yeah just like they promised a $275 reduction in power bills and no changes to super. Jimbo, tell us again the “voice” will just be an advisory body… BTW your pants are on fire 🔥

They said that with superannuation. Why should we believe them now?

Its a PROMISE of 'no intention' and you can take that at whatever it's worth.

Can't believe anything they say..

Wouldnt say that this morning , dint trust Labor they lie

Bullshit

Yeah sure

He never promised anything, he ducked and weaved the question. Just as AirbusAlbo tried to say that he didn’t promise because he didn’t have the INTENTION when he made the statement. Labor =Lies.

As he and Albo are both liars how could anyone believe anything they have to say.

So he is not confident?

no he didnt ... dodge the question wake up sky

Watch 'no intention' become 'we're just having a conversation' before we are told he mean 'no intention of big changes'. Soon after that we will be told changes to capital gains tax will only affect people with really big homes whom we should all hate anyway.

Lies.

Promises may win you friends but failure to deliver will turn them against you.

Give it a term and it'll turn into a 'discussion we have to have'...

Why. Self serving pollies looking after themselves?

Today anyway!

All superannuation money ‘belongs to Jim Chalmers’: Michael KrogerFormer Victorian Liberal Party President Michael Kroger says superannuation money is not the people’s money – it all “belongs to Jim Chalmers”. “Any thought that people who’ve saved their own retirement and put their own hard-earned savings into superannuation and therefore they can’t take it out for emergencies or housing – forget Jim Chalmers owns this money,” Mr Kroger told Sky News host Paul Murray. Let’s do the numbers. Let’s say you have a super balance of $3m plus 1 dollar and you make 5% annual income on that. That’s $150k per annum. So you pay 30% tax on $150k per annum? Even better if you make 10% or the balance is higher sure thing that the super changes won't effect government super schemes Charmers is a flogger

PM undercuts the Treasurer as they differ on potential new taxesDivision was apparent during Wednesday’s media rounds as the Assistant Treasurer, the Treasurer and the Prime Minister all attended interviews with differing dialogue towards potential new taxes. Treasurer Jim Chalmers refused to rule out a housing tax, while PM Anthony Albanese assured an audience the family home would not be taxed, leaving Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones to deliver what some are calling a premonition as he said the current heaviest weight on the budget is investment housing. Worry about something tangible like Julian Assange 12 years on; not one Gov has backed him, an Australian citizen. Even in prison he shines a light on the total subordination of Aus Gov to U.S.A. Too scared to speak up. Imagine the future? We have an aging population and low birth rate.
