An ombudsman finds Nottingham City Homes' 'severe maladministration' had a serious impact on her

A disabled woman was left with rainwater leaking into her home for more than two years because of failures by Nottingham City Homes , an ombudsman found.

She complained water was coming in through the front and rear doors and that there were problems with the windows. The woman also reported a faulty boiler and told NCH her home was excessively cold but it took five months to fix. "The landlord failed to provide a service in line with its obligations under the tenancy and had disregard for good practice in dealing with the defects highlighted by the resident."

Food waste collection trial launches in NottinghamMore than 3,000 homes are being given separate bins for discarded food by the city council. I hate throwing food away, it really angers me. 2 to 3 times a week I’ll go through the fridge and cupboards, see what needs using up and make a recipe accordingly. Brilliant another bin! Why not allow it to be put in garden waste for composting?
