D-FW is no longer a cheap place to live. New data reflects a growing shift in Dallas County’s ability to draw and keep residents with the lure of low living costs. Now, many North Texans are cutting back and doing without to adapt to rising housing costs.

The economic impact of cost-burdened households in Dallas County could mean less buying power and fewer financial choices, especially among lower-income residents. A two-person household in Dallas making less than $62,400 is considered low income,The household’s take-home pay would be around $53,000. About 41% of Dallas County households were considered low-income, according to 2021 Census data.

They pay for one car instead of two, frequently use fans instead of air conditioning to cut their energy bill and eat low-cost food. Sometimes they skip meals entirely. It was only a matter of time. Dallas is a crime-ridden, lib-run Hell hole. The areas around it have become an economic powerhouse. Jobs, low-crime, opportunity. People fleeing other lib-run crime holes and flocking to those areas. I don't understand why people are surprised.

Immigrants get free money, drives up prices for everyone else. Disgusting.

It’s not just cost that’s making Texas a bad place to live. Try guns everywhere, lack of healthcare, book bans , voter suppression and encouraged hate
