After working on it for almost a decade and a half, the Department of National Defence (DND) is rolling out a new benefit to help military members deal with the high cost of housing — but it's not going over very well with everyone.

Military official says more members overall will receive the benefit — but that's not stopping the backlash.

Lol...Join the Canadian Armed Forces and maybe...'They can occasionally enjoy ... being able to go out and have a meal and breathe a little bit easier.' LMFAO

Get it yet? The Laurentians hate you. They detest our military. Moreso, the loathe the kind of people who historically join it.

What a shame. on the other hand the federal government is extending a program that temporarily resettles Ukrainians fleeing the war with Russia in Canada.

This is good. But raising interest rates & hurting avg ppl isn’t gonna fix the underlying problems. Could someone please tell the same old ppl at the Bank of Canada that the same old lever isn’t work like they think it will?

The people that are supposed to protect Canadians in case of war, this is how badly government treats them. Telling them to go to charities to find housing cause their housing allowance is being cut. Then what’s the point to joining to protect this nation, when gov think this low

Ottawa and the Liberals are spending machines. Giving money away to everyone but their own.

. . Bring the military into Toronto

Did China make a donation?

As someone who spent 20 year in the CAF and not once revived PLD, this new benefit make a lot of sense. Why subsidies the cost of living for people in Edmonton when it’s some of the cheapest housing in the country? You have people in areas far more expensive getting nothing.

This is unbelievably sad. I would suggest transferring taxpayer funds to those unfortunate individuals protecting our country from the CBCNB cbcjones poitrasCBC CBC No one would disagree with this.

15 years to work on something ? And you think it will be actual...

doesn't military service come with a lifetime supply of vaseline as a thank you from big oil?

Communist propagandists. Vile creatures - all of you.
