The Crown St home in St Peters sold for the highest price paid in the suburb for 16 months.A designer St Peters house with shrubs growing up the sides sold on Saturday for just below the record price for the suburb, which was paid when the market was booming back in 2021.
Competition for the home described as a “treehouse sanctuary” was high – 21 bidders registered for the auction and more than 200 buyer groups went through the property in the lead up to the sale. There are currently about 40 per cent fewer new listings than there were at this time last year, property records showed.
More than 20 bids were made for the four-bedroom Crown St property, opposite Sydney Park, and there was just $2500 separating the final price and the underbidder’s highest offer.Mr Cooley and Mr Gillespie were also involved in the sale ofin Redfern, which sold for $1.86m, $360,000 over reserve. There were 11 registered bidders and they made 89 bids between them.
