Opinion Given the NDP\u0027s record on hiding information on B.C. Housing, a swift, unredacted release would be a surprise

Ernst and Young delivered the results of that first review in May of last year. The findings detailed a shocking lack of controls and financial precautions at an agency that was presiding over the NDP’s ambitious, $7 billion social housing plan.

The announcement went out after 6 p.m. on a Friday in hopes of drawing as little media attention as possible. Eby justified the late news release as an act of pity for the departed directors: “This was miserable news.”Article contentA few days later, at Eby’s behest, the government commissioned the forensic audit.

The forensic audit was set up to “provide sufficient evidence to confirm or dispel the issues set out in the earlier assessment” by Ernst and Young. Some redacted passages appeared to refer to the relationship between B.C. Housing and an unnamed society.
