Some New Orleans homeowners are still feeling the effects of Hurricane Katrina, thanks in part to what they say are the broken promises of Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation. The charity was forced to pay a $20.5 million settlement in 2022 after it rebuilt homes for residents of the Lower Ninth Ward, only for those homes to be riddled with structural defects. Global Green USA, another Hollywood-linked charity, stepped up to pay the settlement.
As it turns out, it never had the money, leaving the residents stranded again. “I’ve never seen a situation like this, where there was a settlement that fell through because it was an insolvent party that proposed it,” Louisiana State University law professor William R. Corbett told. Pitt’s team denies responsibility, placing the blame on Global Green. For these Katrina survivors, it’s been nothing but missed expectations and failed promises.
Not surprised or new, BradPittIsAnAbuser
Just like the rest of the Hollywood scum. He’s a liar and a sham
Why are U giving Brad Pitt a pass for his failures & his continued litigation abuse towards his Make It Right Foundation homeowners who only wanted him to address the rotting, moulded homes he had sold them, instead he dragged them in court bullied silenced them into signing NDAs
You've failed to mention that '..On March 29,the judge signaled he’d lost confidence in Global Green’s intervention, allowing homeowners’ class-action litigation against Pitt & MIR to again move forward..' So, BradPittIsAnAbuser is not off the hook.
He's a broken man, so why are you still giving him a chance? It was something he had to deal with himself. If he was really innocent, even if there were 500 campaigns against him, he would still stand up.
Tfw you overcommitted to virtue signaling.
He regrets trying to help those ungrateful parasites now. Lesson learned
