CEO of LuckyDuckFound says homeless shelter is needed NOW -- housing will come later. Last week's proposed Unlicensed Camping Ordinance 'enforced a critical need for more immediately available beds.' More info:

SAN DIEGO – Councilmember Stephen Whitburn’s Unlicensed Camping Ordinance made it through the city’s Land Use and Housing Committee with a 3-1 approval last week.

Homeless advocacy groups and community leaders responded to the proposed ordinance. One such group, the Lucky Duck Foundation, approved of the plan but added that more shelter is immediately needed.

LuckyDuckFound The city mentions “unlicensed”. Will licenses now be talked about? Please NO

LuckyDuckFound San Diego needs to get a Mayor whose working for us and not his next photo op. VOTEGLORIAOUT

LuckyDuckFound Lucky duck is a “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” org ran by wealthy & law enforcement. Housing ends homelessness; Shelter continues homelessness. Majority of newly housed homeless found help outside the system bc shelter system is so dysfunctional.

LuckyDuckFound Well they were able to find shelter specifically for lgbtqia+ very quickly so maybe now they can do that for the seniors and veterans on our streets. Guess they need to locate the MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS that has been doled out already for shelter and apparently not used.

LuckyDuckFound It’s what you’ve wanted all along. Otherwise you would not have let this happen. You want government housing. Bigger government taking over every aspect of our lives. Not smart.

LuckyDuckFound Nobody and I mean nobody wants a tent city in their hood. Do better!

LuckyDuckFound I’d suggest the National Guard/Military tents & ops with healthcare professionals, case agents & job recruiters from all over the USA. Get young Americans in there to train too. Jobs. 3-6 months max case work w 3 months of prior prep (9 total). Could that make a 40% dent in 🇺🇸?

LuckyDuckFound The federal government needs to step in to help resolve this country’s homeless crisis. More public housing and access to healthcare is the answer

LuckyDuckFound homeless advocates will tell you that it's not just housing, it's 'adequate housing' that's needed. when in the history of humanity have the people desperate for shelter been the ones who dictated terms? i have a solution for homelessness - BYPASS HOMELESS ADVOCATES.

LuckyDuckFound Here is another stroll from yesterday, 4/16/23. I have a ton of these.
