The area has been locked down for more than 24 hours.

Residents living in Springburn were still out of their homes more than 24 hours after the bomb disposal units arrived on their street.

"I had to come back at 10pm last night to get my meds but one of the police officers came up with me." "I couldn't turn up to work with the same clothes on that I had yesterday. I'm going to see if I can go in to get more stuff if not I'll be going to Asda to get some work clothes. Councillors Audrey Dempsey and Thomas Rannachan are both on the scene reassuring residents in their constituency as they to try to figure out what's going on.

"Then we learned earlier this morning that this wasn't the case and it was still very much a major incident. The housing officers from NG Homes were on the ground until 3am and were back here at 7am. "Housing officers were using money out of their own pocket to buy food and other things, which is something they didn't need to do, but they did.
