KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 — A Singaporean woman is going the extra mile for community cats by creating elaborate mini homes for the felines.Later with the assistance of feeders, Chin released the cats, with cardboard boxes so they could hide.
Worried that the boxes would be mistaken as trash and get thrown away, Chin decided to decorate the boxes and convert them into mini homes for the cats,Since starting on the 'project' in July last year, Chin, who has created over 50 homes, said she has become addicted to it and it has become a hobby for her.
Chin draws inspiration for the little homes from cartoons, cottages or colonial houses, or when she comes across something she likes.“I felt that the interesting designs I have made not only provide the cats a shelter but they also beautify the communities,” she said. The feline mini homes can be found at Yishun, Boon Lay, Chinatown, Tiong Bahru, Spooner Road and Fernvale.
