If the council adopts the amendments, a public hearing will be required, which is tentatively scheduled for May 16. Following that hearing, the application would come back to council again for a final vote. “I’d first like to say that I too recognize the need for new low-income housing in the greater St-John’s area,” another wrote. “I just find it hard to understand 'why' are the private homeowners and residents in our Pleasantville community, especially those in the Janeway Place, Arnold’s Loop, and Charter Avenue area, having to bear an unfair share of the burden.
