NEARLY nine out of 10 Filipinos believe that they feel safe within their communities, while seven out of 10 said that they feel safe in their own homes, according to a survey conducted by OCTA Research.

In its First quarter Tugon ng Masa survey from March 24-28, 91 percent of residents from the National Capital Region and Balanced Luzon felt that they were safe in their neighborhoods.Among socioeconomic classes, Class ABC and Class D also had the highest percentages among those who believe that they are safe in their communities with 92 percent and 90 percent respectively.

On the question on whether they feel safe in their own homes, only 71 percent of respondents nationwide felt that they were safe in their own homes, while 10 percent said that they do not feel safe.Only 48 percent, however, said that their community is safe from illegal drugs, while 23 percent said that their community is not safe from illegal drugs.The survey had 1,200 respondents nationwide and had a margin of error of +3 percent nationwide and +6 across major areas.
