Neighbours of a "usually lovely" Long Eaton street have spoken out after a property was closed due to consistent "unacceptable behaviour'". A property at Trafalgar Square off Main Street in Long Eaton was served a closure notice on June 30 by police following repeated reports of drug-related anti-social behaviour.
Now residents have shared what life is like on the street. Lisa Widdowson, 50, who works as a security guard said: "The anti-social behaviour on the street is the worst, I don't know much about the drugs use, but then again, there is one house which just drug deals in the street all the time."There are kids just riding up and down on their bikes all the time. It's noisy - I've been here three and a half years and it's always been like this.
Despite the issues on the street, residents sat they are caused by a minority, and many of those living there have "never had a problem." Donna Jones, 58, who does not work due to a medical condition, said: "I usually sit in the back of the house and I don't hear any noise. I think this street is alright.
