There will be a mix of flats and houses

Almost 130 homes are set to be built on a former factory site in Carntyne after council planners backed the scheme.

Planning permission has been granted to AS Homes Ltd for a residential development on the corner of Myreside Street and Rigby Street. The site, most recently used by steel plate traders Brown McFarlane and previously a munitions factory, is set to be redeveloped to provide 128 homes. .Plans stated 151 parking spaces will be provided as part of the development, as well as covered bike storage.

A previous application for 158 homes on the site was approved in 2009, however the new proposal stated it would no longer be “feasible or acceptable” if submitted now. Sign up to our daily Glasgow Live newsletter here to receive news and features direct to your inbox.
