It is understood fire crews were dealing with a blaze which spread from a hedge to affect a garage and the property.

Three crews were called to the scene of the incident, at a bungalow on Seifton Lane, Seifton, with teams dispatched from Ludlow, Church Stretton, and Craven Arms at around 2pm.

An update posted by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said that police and Shropshire Council had attented. The crews used a variety of equipment to tackle the fire, including breathing apparatus, a hosereel jet, a main jet, and a thermal imaging camera.

The update added that the fire officers had rescued two dogs and a parrot as they dealt with the incident.
