House prices are continuing to decline, according to latest figures from Halifax, revealing average prices fell by 0.3% in July, a fourth consecutive monthly decline CallumCMason reports

My expectation is that prices will slide about 10 per cent from their peak in the last three months of last year. I expect to see them bottom out in the second quarter of next year.

“One thing that I expect to be different however is turnover. About 40 per cent fewer homes will sell this year, as sellers take time to adjust to what their home is now worth and to realise what has impacted on their sale will also impact on what they want to buy.”“If you compensate for the lag effect in house price reporting, you would see that we are likely already down more than 10 per cent off the highs of summer 2022.

“The price falls will vary regionally, falling between 15 to 50 per cent and the timing of when they will hit their lowest will also vary regionally but will be within six months of the end of 2025.
