Residents living on Altyre Street in Shettleston were met with the bomb squad, police, army and officers in hazmat suits as they were told to evacuate their homes as quickly as possible.

Residents on one Glasgow street were told to leave their homes as quickly as possible after reports of 'potentially hazardous materials' being discovered in a property nearby.

The bomb squad were also in attendance alongside officers in hazmat suits to establish the nature of the potentially harmful materials. Neighbour David was one of the people impacted by the massive emergency response. He told Glasgow Live of the moment police came knocking: "The buzzers went, the doors got chapped.
