Hastings County lost its bid for government financial support for more housing projects but continues to look for new opportunities.
Director Connor Dorey said, “We’re going to continue to advocate for the different federal programs and how we need this external funding for our local projects but it unfortunate that the news that was received in July .“So from our conversations it just comes down to the number of applications that they did receive for the rapid housing Initiative. It was based on a point system so in looking at what the other points received for projects that were approved, we don’t have that information.
He added, “Some of the programs we’re looking at are financing through Infrastructure Ontario. The Co-Investment Fund through the Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation. There are different programs out there that we might be able to lean on.
