National Cabinet is set to adopt crucial measures for a nationwide attempt to increase the supply of affordable housing, but the Prime Minister has been accused of"wasting time" trying to secure the Housing Australia Future Fund.

While the Prime Minister will be confident in securing a uniform national housing code, he has failed to pass his signature election promise to build more affordable homes. “I just felt this sense of frustration because the government has been here with their feet well and truly under the desk for 15 months at least,” Ms Ley told Sky News Australia’s Peter Stefanovic on Wednesday.

The minor party is pushing the federal government to increase the annual housing spend to $2.5 billion while demanding stronger rental restrictions.the Greens are urging the Prime Minister to incentivise a national coordinated effort which it says will save Australia’s renters more than $3600 a year on average.
