The pitch in Bonhill would help replace a play area removed as part of a housing development.

A campaign for a new 4G all weather pitch in Bonhill, expected to cost around £250,000, has gained the unanimous support of West Dunbartonshire councillors.

Councillor McGinty said: “I was born and brought up in Bonhill and I have seen local councillors for the area being in the newspapers saying it is an area that has been forgotten. “But very recently we have seen a petition being raised by the community, with 500 signatures, saying there is nothing for sport or recreation.
