The plans for the new homes on Leeds South Bank have been approved by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority

More than 800 homes are set to be built along the Leeds South Bank after plans received approval from the West Yorkshire Mayor.

This forms part of a bid to open up the city centre to hundreds of new residents. According to the Combined Authority, they will have low carbon features to cut energy bills. For example, this could mean energy efficient lighting, electric vehicle charging points, cycle spaces and solar panels. The funding forms part of the £89 million Brownfield Fund which has been devolved to West Yorkshire from the government.

"We want everyone in West Yorkshire to have that same opportunity, and regenerating Leeds’ South Bank will help achieve that.
