Three flats in the Ibrox and Cessnock area could be bought by the council and handed over to a housing association.

Three flats in Ibrox are set to be bought by the council after being “abandoned” by a landlord who was struck off.

The social landlord has already offered to buy the properties from the owner, but council officials reported he has “refused to engage”. The private landlord was removed from the register last year, after he didn’t produce the “requested documentation to support his standing as a fit and proper person to be registered”.

“Elderpark Housing Association has offered to purchase all three flats on a voluntary basis since they own flats within both buildings and provide factoring services. The landlord has refused to engage.”
