When you remove someone from an area where drugs and drug users are prevelent, the better chance they have at recovery. Yes, anyone who is determined to return to that life will do so, but removing easy access works for many. Sober homes need to be in better areas, not worse.

Little did they realize the extent of the epidemic- those are just the people who have access to recovery. The rest continue to blend in with society

I have a story about one of these homes next door to our BnB in Albany! We finally had to move. 13 shirtless men in pajamas on the front porch smoking off and on all day isn’t conducive to running a successful business. They are protected by the ADA so there’s nothing neighbors

U.S. politicians have had an 'opioid crisis' every 10 years or so, like clockwork...ever since Reagan. JustSayNo It's a diversionary tactic that never gets resolved. Answer: Decriminalize all illegal drugs. Ironically, we treat guns the way we ought to treat drugs & vice versa!

if sober houses are multiplying in your neighborhood, it’s not the sober houses you should be worried about

Pretty sure soberhouses are just a bunch of bullshit. We should just blow them up lol.

I mean...it you want addicts to be stretched out on your street corners as you take your kids to school...that’s your thing. For me, I’m here for a sober house...but hey, we don’t have them here 🤷🏽‍♀️

A family of active alcoholics living in the home is fine, but people in early recovery living in the same home is a problem. Am I missing something here?

A family living

It’s just so difficult to oversee... says it all.

Some Canton residents are going nuts over a proposed drug rehabilitation facility on Route 138... I guess they can’t see the bigger picture. NIMBYism

No. Not being a junkie in the first place is the answer. Coddling and enabling junkies is how you get more druggie trash, not less.

I live in Palm Beach County. Ask me about the scam that is 'sober houses.'
