The measure would limit rent increases to 7 percent annually, plus inflation, and offer renters more protection from eviction. Supporters celebrate as critics fear it will diminish housing options.

Any word on Nevada? 😬

Not good

Are they going to also put a cap on: * interest rates for mortgages * insurance premiums on GL * property taxes * capital gains tax * maintenance labor * replacement value of damaged items * attorneys fees Seems a little, one sided. 🤬

GavinNewsom California needs something like this and SOON!!!

I hope they considered the other factors involved, such as high insurance costs, higher cost of building materials, not to mention the increase in property taxes. I see this plan causing rental properties to be sold or going bankrupt, and a sharp decrease of available housing.

Probably create a weird class divide between property owners and renters.

😂😂😂 They think this is going to work? Um, sure. Loopholes? Yep. How about selling one property and buying a similar unit, resetting the clock. Look for 11 month leases to eliminate the month to month payment buyout. There are enough gaps in this, it will be a pain for renters.

That will work well. Don’t expect any improvements to property. Let’s just fast fooand have the government take the land and own it.

California: We're going to drive all our population into surrounding, sane states. Oregon: Hold my ginseng tea.

Wow nanny state

That’s one way to slow down the pesky construction boom...

No one cares about Oregon. Rain rain rain.

I hope my state is next.

RIP Rent prices.
