Embers blow in the wind as the Camp fire burns a KFC restaurant in Paradise, Calif., on Nov. 8. Fueled by high winds and low humidity, the rapidly spreading wildfire ripped through the town.
Pacific Gas & Electric said Thursday that it is “probable” its equipment caused the Camp fire that destroyed thousands of homes in Paradise, Calif., and killed 85 people in 2018.because of losses from the fire, said that while the investigation is continuing, “the company believes it is probable that its equipment will be determined to be an ignition point of the 2018 Camp fire.”
Can you say BANKRUPTCY?
maybe people should fear pg & e more than climate change.
I thought all the fires were the fault of 'human caused climate change'.
CA will 'fix it' by taxing the people an extra utility tax and not hold the company accountable
no sh*t
One needs also to consider the role of whatever state/local regulators/inspectors, etc., had in not performing their duties/inspections/due diligence. Are they simply looking the other way allowing such risks to become inevitable?
In addition to another 18 people killed during 17 other fires PG&E caused last year. they need to be held responsible beyond filing for bankruptcy...
If there were any justice, CA would dissolve PG&E and send the culpable members of the board to prison.
