PARENTS were left heartbroken after they were told a roadside memorial to their son had been removed because it was “too close to houses”.
She wrote: “As we drove to deliver flowers to our son's roadside memorial cross... we were not expecting the phone call that would soon notify us that our place, the place where we felt closer to our son, brother, friend had simply been removed with no warning. The toughest of days were made that little bit easier by simply driving and visiting his place of rest, the place he had taken his last breath“All that lays there now is the bunch of yellow flowers we wished to place there for his birthday.”
It said a request for the memorial to be relocated had originally been submitted in June 2018 and they claimed to have been in discussion with the family about moving it since 2017.
What can you say
I don't see the purpose of these 'roadside memorials'.
There ought to be a Plaque system, where a small Plaque is placed for 3 years then given to the families when it's removed.
That is awful , heart goes out to your family ,
