Del Mar City Manager Ashley Jones told the Del Mar Times earlier this month that the negotiation was “nearing a successful conclusion.”
According to statements released by the city and school, the new agreement will cover redevelopment and parking, which had also been a sticking point. It was not immediately clear what the school will be paying in rent, which had been a point of contention three years ago when the school unsuccessfully lobbied the city to lower it.
“This outcome provides a significant benefit to the City, Del Mar community, and Winston and the students they serve,” the statement continued. “We look forward to continuing positive relations between the parties and future renovation of The Winston School along with Del Mar Shores Park.”“Winston is pleased to have the lawsuit behind us,” Laura Cunitz, Winston School board president, said in a statement.
