The images aired by FOX 26 were gathered less than a year ago and depict huge piles of dark black material unearthed during the recent construction process and identified as toxic ash from the City of Houston's old Velasco trash incinerator plan plant.Drone footage indicates the ash runs as deep as 30 feet below the surface.

Residents also provided earlier photographs of incinerator ash exposed on the banks above Buffalo Bayou where it likely leached into the water that flows into Galveston Bay.
