Digs are ongoing at the Bourne Hill site in Thornton with planning permission expected to be finalised soon. Once agreed, more than 150 houses built on top of the historic site. Those living nearby have expressed dismay at the plans, with around 2,000 joining a Facebook group devoted to stopping the developments.
During the summer, Wyre Council's planning committee voted to approve the application pending the agreement of a S106 contribution. That agreement relates to the developer contributing funds which must be used for the benefit of the community and once signed off, the planning permission becomes active.
The report will detail all of the archaeological works conducted, together with the results and analysis of the findings and once finalised, will be made available to the public providing valuable insight into these discoveries, a council spokesperson said.
