Tayde Lara was among the dozens of participants wearing pink sashes that read “Survivor.” She ran last year’s 5K, too. The nonprofit provides financial assistance to people who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families. Funds raised from the race will pay for bills, funeral costs and other expenses for cancer patients.
