Giovanni “John” Emmolo, 80, and Marina Perez, 56, both had gunshot wounds when they were found by police about 4:15 p.m., Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. They were pronounced dead later on Saturday.
Investigators did not elaborate on how Emmolo and Perez were shot, nor any relationship they may have had, but said the incident appears to be isolated. Police were conducting a welfare check at the residence, located on Myrtle Avenue in New Milford, when the victims were found.
